Why does my blackout shade still leak light?
Because the fabric is blackout but the installation is not. Light comes in around the edges. A side channel or a wider outside mount with real overlap fixes it — that is the difference between a dark room and a dim one.
What holds up to salt air on the beach?
Sealed motors, corrosion-resistant brackets and marine-grade hardware outdoors. Standard components corrode noticeably faster within a block or two of the Gulf.
