Because there is nothing to stack, a roller disappears into the cassette when it is up. On a big opening that means you keep the full view instead of losing the top eighteen inches to a bundle of slats.

What openness percentage should I get?
Lower numbers block more. 3% is the sweet spot for most Florida living rooms — real glare control while you can still see out. 10% keeps more view but lets more heat in.
Will a light-filtering roller give me privacy at night?
During the day, yes. At night with lights on, a light-filtering fabric shows silhouettes. Bedrooms usually want room-darkening or blackout.
Can rollers go on a patio?
Yes — exterior-grade screen fabric on a patio or lanai cuts sun, wind and bugs. Those are usually the ones people motorize first.
