High-rise glass and the association letter
Brickell and Edgewater towers are almost entirely glass, and almost every one of those buildings requires a white or off-white backing on anything visible from outside. That is not negotiable and it does not have to be a compromise — a dual-sided roller shows white to the street and whatever you actually chose to the room. Bring us the association document and we will spec straight off it.
The second Miami reality is mounting. Impact glass, minimal reveal, and often a ceiling pocket the developer left. Where there is a pocket we use it and the shade disappears entirely. Where there is not, we ceiling-mount just in front of the glass with the slimmest fascia the drop allows. Drilling the impact frame is the one thing we will not do.

Miami questions
My building requires white from the outside. Can I still have dark shades?
Yes. A dual-sided roller has a white or off-white backing facing out and your chosen fabric facing in. The building stays uniform and your room looks the way you want.
Where do shades mount on floor-to-ceiling impact glass?
In the developer ceiling pocket if there is one — the cleanest result by far. If not, into the ceiling just in front of the glass. We do not drill into impact window frames.
