Arches, deep reveals and a careful exterior
The Gables housing stock is genuinely architectural — arched and shaped openings, thick stucco reveals, casement windows, and interiors where a badly mounted shade looks obviously wrong. Deep reveals are actually an advantage: they let us mount fully inside so nothing projects, and the shade reads as part of the opening rather than an object hung across it.
Coral Gables also cares about exterior appearance in a way most cities do not. For anything visible from the street we spec neutral backing as a matter of course, and if a shaped arch is involved we template it off the actual opening rather than working from a nominal size — a Gables arch is rarely a perfect half-circle.

Yes — we template off the actual opening rather than assuming a perfect half-round, which older Gables arches almost never are.
Will the shade project out past my stucco reveal?
