Canopy on one side, nothing on the other
Plantation Acres and the older Jacaranda streets have mature trees that do half the work for you. Under that canopy a dense solar fabric is the wrong call — you end up with a dim room and no benefit. Newer sections have no canopy at all and take the full afternoon. Same city, opposite specification, and the only way to get it right is to walk the house.

Plantation questions
Do I need solar shades if my house is shaded by trees?
Usually not on the shaded elevations — you would just make the room dim for no benefit. Put the solar fabric on the walls that actually take sun and save the money elsewhere.
We still have twenty-year-old vertical blinds. Is replacement complicated?
No. We take the old units down, verify the openings are still square, and install the new ones the same day. Old vertical blind brackets come out cleanly in almost every case.
