Beach glare and the balcony slider
On Sand Key and Island Estates the living room is a slider to a balcony pointed at the Gulf. Between about four and sunset the light comes in almost horizontally, straight under the overhang, and it makes the room unusable at exactly the hour you want to be in it. A solar screen roller on that slider is the single highest-impact thing you can do to a Clearwater beach condo — it kills the glare and keeps the water.
Countryside and Feather Sound are inland and the job changes: single-family homes, standard openings, and the usual builder blinds at the end of their life. That is straightforward whole-house work, and it is where most people take the opportunity to motorize the rooms they never open manually anyway.

What stops low afternoon sun off the Gulf?
A solar screen fabric — around 3 percent openness on a water view, denser if glare matters more than the view. Nothing else holds the view and cuts that low angle at the same time.
My condo association restricts what can be seen from outside. Is that a problem?
No. We build the roller with a white or off-white backing so the building stays uniform, and you choose whatever fabric you want on the room side.
